What To Know Before Testing

Fasting Recommended (8 hours)

No food or drink, except water at least 8 hours before. Be sure to eat a light, healthy meal before you start your fast and avoid drinking alcohol.

Test In The Morning

If you are interested in your testosterone levels, please ensure you collect your sample in the morning

Gels or Creams

Please avoid collecting your sample from any finger that has been used to apply hormone gels or pessaries within the past 4 weeks. If you use hormone patches/ creams / gels on your arms, do not use the same arm for blood collection with the Tasso device, as this may affect your results. To minimise the risk of contamination, consider wearing gloves when applying these products.

Biotin (Vitamin B7)

Biotin (Vitamin B7) is a common component of many multivitamins and is also available as a standalone supplement. Biotin is known to interfere with laboratory testing and can affect various blood results. Unless prescribed by your Doctor, we recommend stopping supplementation at least 48 hours prior to testing. If the supplement has been prescribed, please speak with your Doctor before stopping.
