Key Findings

Early signs of iron overload and increased iron absorption.

Outcome

After discussing with a Doctor, the client was diagnosed with genetic haemochromatosis which causes a build-up of iron in the organs which can lead to organ damage. The client is under the care of a haematologist who will monitor her iron levels and arrange for blood letting if these increase further in future. Early detection prevented future complications.
