The contraceptive pill may affect your female hormone test results. If you stop taking it, it’s best to wait until your cycle returns to normal before testing. Remember to use another form of contraception in the meantime if you are not planning to get pregnant. For the best results, aim to take the test 2-5 days after your period starts— ideally on day 3. If you would like a general hormone check or are post menopausal it can be taken on any day. One more thing: biotin (Vitamin B7), often found in multivitamins, can interfere with blood test results. Unless prescribed by your doctor we suggest to stop supplementation 48 hours before your test. Please speak with your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
