HPV is a common virus affecting the mouth, throat, and genitals, and has over 200 different strains. It is estimated that by age 27 most sexually active people will have been exposed to one of more strains of HPV, usually without their knowledge. The HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9 vaccine) can help to protect against several trains of HPV which can lead to cervical cancer, genital cancers & genital warts and is recommended for women and men aged 45 and under.
