The test takes about 45 minutes and includes body measurements, a blood test, and a urine sample. Please fast for 8 hours beforehand (water only) as food can affect results. Stay hydrated, avoid smoking for 30 minutes, and skip strenuous exercise for 48 hours before your appointment. Once booked, you’ll complete a short health and lifestyle questionnaire. Biotin (Vitamin B7), found in many multivitamins, can interfere with results. Unless prescribed by your doctor, stop taking it at least 48 hours before your test. If prescribed, speak to your doctor first. If interested in testosterone, select a morning appointment slot. The contraceptive pill can affect your hormone test results. If you’ve recently stopped taking it, it’s best to wait until your periods return to their normal cycle before testing. Remember to use another form of contraception in the meantime, if you are not planning to get pregnant. For the most accurate results, aim to take the test 2-5 days after your period starts—day 3 is ideal. If you would like a general check or are post-menopausal it can be taken on any day.

Biotin (Vitamin B7) is a common component of many multivitamins and is also available as a standalone supplement. Biotin is known to interfere with laboratory testing and can affect various blood results. Unless prescribed by your Doctor, we recommend stopping supplementation at least 48 hours prior to testing. If the supplement has been prescribed, please speak with your Doctor before stopping.
