By screening for 10 genetic variants associated with the condition, the test calculates a genetic risk score helping to identify those at highest risk of developing Type 1 Diabetes in the future. This early identification of risk allows for further monitoring with autoantibody screening if required and timely intervention with novel drugs like teplizumab to delay or prevent the onset of the condition.
