Why should you test

If you've been struggling with irregular periods, breakouts or fertility concerns, it could be PCOS. PCOS affects up to 1 in 10 women and is often linked to hormonal imbalances – including low progesterone and raised androgen levels like testosterone. Our comprehensive PCOS test measures over 45 biomarkers including fertility hormones, testosterone levels and AMH (which is often higher in women with PCOS due to immature follicles on the ovaries) to help provide some clarity on your symptoms.

What To Know Before Your Appointment

Contraceptive Pill

It is important to note that the contraceptive pill may affect your results. If you stop taking the pill, we suggest waiting until your periods have resumed their normal cycle before taking this test. Make sure that you take an alternative form of contraception if you are not planning to become pregnant.

When to Test

This test should be taken two to five days after the start of your period, ideally on day three.

Fasting Required (8 hours)

Fasting for 8 hours prior to your test is essential as non-fasting can impact heart health, cardiovascular risk score, diabetes health and iron status.

Biotin (Vitamin B7)

Biotin (Vitamin B7) is a common component of many multivitamins and is also available as a standalone supplement. Biotin is known to interfere with laboratory testing and can affect various blood results. Unless prescribed by your Doctor, we recommend stopping supplementation at least 48 hours prior to testing. If the supplement has been prescribed, please speak with your Doctor before stopping.
