Why Get Tested
You may be at increased risk of blood borne sexually transmitted infections (STIs) if you have come into contact with an infected person through unprotected sex or sharing needles. Individuals at increased risk should get tested regularly for such infections including HIV regularly. Early diagnosis of HIV and other STIs helps to enable better treatment outcomes and reduces the risk of transmitting the infection to others. The Randox Health Blood Borne STI test allows you to discreetly test for 4 blood borne STIs including HIV, Hepatitis and Syphilis.
Depending on the infection it can take several weeks before it is detectable in the blood, you may therefore need to wait before testing to reduce the risk of a false negative. Please refer to our FAQs below for more information on when you should get tested after suspected exposure.
An HIV test is recommended prior to starting IVF treatment.
